Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Parent Coaching for?
Parent Coaching is ideal for parents of adolescents and young adults who are struggling with behavioral, emotional, or family system challenges. It’s especially helpful for families who have tried traditional therapy or treatment and are seeking practical, ongoing support for real-world change.
How does coaching differ from therapy?
Coaching focuses on the present and future—building strategies, communication skills, and family structure—while therapy often explores emotional healing and past experiences. Coaching is not mental health treatment and does not diagnose clinical conditions.
Can all parents participate in coaching?
Absolutely. We encourage all caregivers to attend when possible. Working together as a team enhances alignment and consistency at home.
Can you work with divorced co-parents individually?
Yes. We will work out situations that will work best for your family situation.
How many sessions should we plan for?
While some families find clarity after a few sessions, most benefit from a series of ongoing meetings over several weeks or months. Your coach will recommend a plan based on your family’s goals and progress.
What if we already have a therapist or treatment team?
Parent Coaching and Training complements existing professional support. We’re happy to collaborate with your therapist, educational consultant, or other providers through our Professional Collaboration option.
